South Asian Cooperation and the Role of the Punjabs
On Tuesday, March 27, 2007 the Institute for Multi-Track Diplomacy held a discussion on the just-released book "South Asian Cooperation and the Role of the Punjabs," by Tridivesh Singh Maini. The book explores the challenges of promoting cooperation in the Punjab region of the South Asian continent. The book is the first of its kind and specifically addresses the strategies necessary to increase economic prosperity for both Pakistani and Indian Punjab. Ambassador John W. McDonald, supported and commented the idea."Maini offers recommendations on how South Asia can begin producing Nobel Peace Prize winners instead of perpetuating cycles of conflict." Maini has now taken on the role of an IMTD associate to explore possible projects in bringing about greater South Asian Cooperation in the region of the Punjab. |
